About the Author

Richard Wagamese was an Ojibwe author from the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation in Ontario, Canada. He was the author of several award-winning novels, including Indian Horse, Dream Wheels, and Medicine Walk. Wagamese's writing is known for its lyrical prose and its insights into the Ojibwe culture and worldview.

Wagamese died in 2017 at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife, Norma, and his three children, Joshua, Samuel, and Savannah.
