Moyo provides a wealth of evidence to support her claims, drawing on her own experiences as an economist and researcher in Africa. She shows how corruption and violence stifle economic growth, create insecurity, and undermine the rule of law. She also argues that the international community has often been complicit in the perpetuation of corruption and violence in developing countries, by providing aid and support to corrupt regimes.

Corruption, Violence, and the Poverty of Nations is a powerful and disturbing book that challenges the conventional wisdom about poverty. Moyo's analysis is clear-eyed and unflinching, and she offers no easy solutions. However, she does provide a roadmap for change, arguing that the international community must take a more active role in combating corruption and violence in developing countries.
