About the Author

Stan Sakai is an American cartoonist and illustrator. He is best known for his comic book series Usagi Yojimbo, which has been published since 1984. Sakai has also worked on a number of other projects, including Groo the Wanderer and Hellboy.

Sakai was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1953. He moved to the United States with his family when he was a child. Sakai began his career in comics in the 1970s, working on a number of underground comics. In 1984, he created Usagi Yojimbo, which quickly became one of the most popular independent comic books.

Sakai has won numerous awards for his work, including the Eisner Award, the Harvey Award, and the Inkpot Award. He is considered one of the most influential cartoonists of his generation.
